Screenplay by Jon Fosse. This play is about two persons in a boat, or did the journely already take place? Perhaps we are only seeing a memory, of the two in the boat, where they fight the waves, the boat, and their own demons. How can we approach each other, and in what language? Is it possible to find the words for the largest questions of life? How can we be in the world, and at the same time understand someone who does not have the strength or will to be anymore. This is like the core of Fosse´s authorship: giving a voice to the unspeakable.
I admit it, reluctantly: I was sceptical. Much could go wrong, very wrong. But everything was right, very right.
