THE SOUND OF SUPER POWERS
Music for percussion trio, Borealis Festival (2018)
Commissioned piece for PINQUINS percussion trio, premiere at the Borealis Festival 2018.
The piece is built up by repeated phrases and rythmic structures for marimba, vibraphone, glockenspiel, tom toms, metal and voice, that overlap and evolves into patterns.
The piece builds on the immanent super powers of the three Pinquins members. The concept for the piece is the religious idea that the material world is built from a first primordial element, which is sound, and the poetry found in puzzle in quantum mechanics that fundamental entities of the universe, like photons and electrons, switches between being wave or particle according to the experimental circumstances.
