GRISGRENDTE STRØK 1: HAUGAR
Music for live performance, Haugar Kunstmusem (2025)
Inspired by live action role play we meet a historical troupe with no current show, but many former shows, and bits and pieces from these shows emerge as half written songs, and they have settled down in the museum and move between the dreamlike indoors and the concrete outdoors.
Grisgrendte strøk 1: Haugar is a relational and social project, where new relations and thoughts and experiences may arise, and where performers and visitors meet experiences from other kinds of everydays and everything merges.
What may occure between us when we as performers and audience end up in the same boat in several ways during a defined time span. The course of events examines the spontaneous and the intimate that may arise in the meeting between strangers and creates alternative realities in the shared everyday.
Lie is inspired by the non-committing social room that emerges between people through healing practices, where one is “listening” with the whole body to the other person, with no other agenda than being present. This opens for deep conversations and the experience of being close to one another, in a very short time. Ritual and magical practices are also the foundation of theater, which is something Lie is actively using and examining in her artistic practice. In her art, and in her PhD, she has researched how liminal processes from western magical tradition and folk magical practices create affective spaces and relations based on the experience of what Levy-Bruhl calles participation (other ways of beeing in the world and experience context).
The project is a four year artistic project, where Haugar is the first location. The project examines the boarder between film and theater. In a hybrid expression, combining the language of live art with the closeness of film, local art works are created as stand alone pieces as well as parts of a greater scenic context. The project is documented on film and the material will emerge in different forms throughout the whole project period.
