In 1999, Angelica´s grandfather disappeared after a walk on a mountain, and 25 years later she went back in search of answers.
“When I was little, I had a grandfather. But I never got to know him. On October 14th, 1999, he went hiking on a mountain alone on the island Zakynthos in Greece. And he never came back. We never learned anything about what had happened. And I’ve never been able to put aside the questions we never got answered. I have always been afraid to open old wounds, in fear of not finding answers. But also for fear of what I might find on the way. But 25 years have passed, I want to return to the island to ask the questions I have never dared to ask, in hopes of finding answers to what really happened to my grandfather on that day.”
The film was selected for Nordic Docs 2025.
